I had this issue a minute a ago – make sure you have clicked on the project first and the blue header states your project and it doesn’t say "username dashboard"
I find this bit a little difficult to navigate – maybe a dropdown box in the blue header to select the active project would be better.
Cheers

The UI will be changing soon so that the user pages look different enough from the project pages

Great – good news!
I just have another little glitch – I paid for a $5/month account and I added a project and invited a user to that project. However, the user still has advertising on his pages.... I thought all project now (and users) won’t see the ads?

The way it works currently is that when the user visits your project pages, he should not see any ads. If he does see ads on his project pages, then thats a bug. Do raise a support ticket in that case - http://xp-dev.com/support
However, since he’s still a free user, he will see ads on his user specific pages (dashboard, settings, etc).
The idea was that you are playing the role of project sponsor and he’s a collaborator on that. Hence he should not see ads on your project (or anyone for that matter). However if he created a project for himself and is a free user, everyone will see ads on his project.
Its going to change in the future, which will hopefully be a little more consistent.
